5th and 6th classes were busy making healthy nutritious smoothies for pupils in Kilkishen N.S. today as part of the Junior Entrepreneur Programme. 5th and 6th class pupils decided to make healthy nutritious smoothies for their business idea. Pupils had a choice of three flavours: strawberry, banana or apple smoothies. Infants and 1st/ 2nd classes really enjoyed their smoothies today and tomorrow 3rd/4th and 5th/6th classes will have their turn. Thank you to everyone that supported 5th/6th classes business venture. The Junior and Senior Infants have been having fun lately, learning about the wonderful Dutch artist - Vincent Van Gogh. Firstly, we learned about his life in the Netherlands and later, France. We studied his paintings, especially his many paintings of sunflowers. We then tried to copy his style firstly colouring, then painting, our own pictures of sunflowers. We created an 'Artist's Board' in our classroom, displaying all of the information we learned about our new favourite artist - Vincent Van Gogh! We look forward to learning about another artist very soon........ Congratulations to Ella Bliss for representing Kilkishen N.S. at the County Spelling Bee finals held recently at Newmarket N.S. Ella was chosen to represent Kilkishen N.S. having qualified from our school spelling bee competition. Ella received a Spelling Bee pack for competing in the event. Well done Ella.
