Congratulations to all the boys and girls who took part in the Schools Handball Competitions on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. The competitions were held in Tulla and Clooney. We had great successes with gold medal winners in both U11 Girls and U13 Boys. Darragh Moroney and Adrian Kelly were fantastic in each of their games and beat O'Callaghan's Mills, Scarriff and Tuamgraney to secure their place in the final. They then went on to win the final in an exciting game against Tulla. They will now go through to the Munsters to represent Kilkishen NS at the next stage of the competition. Eadaoin Moroney and Lilly Kavanagh also won gold and played superbly against Ogonnelloe and Scarriff. They too will go forward to the Munsters to represent our school with pride. Hard luck to Seán Boyce who narrowly missed out on an U11 gold medal when he was beaten in the final by Clooney. He also played brilliantly and won his games against Tuamgraney and Ogonnelloe. Aoife Frost and Óisín Cleary played in the U11 and U13 singles but were unfortunately knocked out. They were up against stiff competition and played incredibly well but were unlucky on the day. We wish all the children the very best of luck going forward in their respective competitions and we are excited to hear how they get on.
