Seniors/1st/2nd class enjoyed their tour to The Farmyard in Corofin on Wednesday. The children were in high spirits in the morning waiting for the bus to arrive. When we reached The Farmyard, we were greeted by Darragh, the farmer, Bernie and Fionnuala who were very hospitable and welcoming. The children were treated to a historical tour of McMahon's Farm. They were also given the opportunity to feed, hold and pet the various animals on the farm. As well as that, the children got the chance to milk Betty the Friesian cow and they were given a lesson on how to make butter from scratch. The children even got to bring their own little lump of butter home to taste. On top of that, the children had lots of fun participating in the activities; sheep herding, archery and wellington throwing! The three groups were very competitive and each group won an activity! :) To end the tour, we made a pit-stop at McDonalds in Ennis which gave them lots of energy for a sing-song on the way back to school!
