The Junior Infants had great fun carrying out the Dancing Raisin experiment last week, as part of Science Week. We saw how the bubbles in soda water can surround a raisin and carry it to the top of a glass. When the bubbles burst, the raisin drops back down. First, we carried out the experiment using flat soda water - teacher opened it the night before at home to check if the experiment worked - it didn't the next day in school when the fizz was gone!!! Not to worry, a quick spin to the shop for a fresh bottle did the trick!!!
Then, on Thursday, the junior infants visited the Science Fair the older classes were holding in the school. We saw lots of experiments and listened to the lovely children who explained their experiments wonderfully.
All in all, it was a great Science Week!!
