On Wednesday, 3rd Class and members of the Water Squad, visited Ardnacrusha to learn more about how water is used to generate electricity. The children were given a guided tour around the hydroelectric power plant and they learned about its daily operations and also a bit about the history of the plant. The children were particularly interested to learn about the salmon pass and the eel fry . This visit will tie in with our One Good Idea campaign and members of our Water Squad, Finn Bliss and Keelin Moroney, are currently designing a PowerPoint Presentation all about Ardnacrusha. A big thank you to Mike Hogan for organizing the visit and to Michael O'Brien who came along to photograph and film the children.
