Pupils from 3rd - 6th classes took part in a walking tour of Ennis on Tuesday. Pupils visited the oldest building in the town, the Old Friary, and were informed about the history of the town and the incredible history of this building since the 13th century. Pupils visited DeValera library and got to examine the presidental car owned by Eamonn DeValera. Finally, pupils worked as historians in the Ennis museum examining old and not so old historical artifacts from the past. It was a very enjoyable and educational experience for all pupils and we would like to thank Clare Museum, Ennis library and the OPW for sharing their facilities with our pupils. To finish the day, 5th and 6th carried out a history quiz based on the towns history. Have a look at some of the places the pupils visited here.
