,Kilkishen N.S. was delighted to have Clare hurler, Peter Duggan, as our special guest at our recent Sports Day. Peter has been in outstanding form for Clare and played an huge part in Clare's run to the Munster final. Peter helped raise our school's third Green Flag, present our "Player of the Year" awards and Sports Day medals . Have a look at some of the highlights below. Best of luck to Peter and the Clare team in the Munster Final. Kilkishen N.S. pupils enjoyed a great sports day on Thursday June 21. The day was full of fun activities which included inflatable obstacle course, giant games, workshops with M.E.T. trainer Noel Collins, novelty games and medal races for each class. We also had "Cozy Cottage" catering attend provide hot food for pupils and parents that attended. To finish the day our special guest, Peter Duggan, presented pupils with their medals and he also presented special plaques to our "Players of the Year". Thank you to the Parents Association Committee for their support in organizing a great day. Have a look at some of the activities here. The Junior and Senior Infants were on school tour on Tuesday June 12 last visit Turoe Pet Farm. The pupils had a great time and enjoyed the day thoroughly. Have a look at how they got on below. Weather permitting our annual Sports Day is scheduled for this Thursday. Parents are invited to attend on the day and enjoy the activities. Cozy Cottage will attend on the day and provide hot food for anyone in attendance. Noel Collins M.E.T Trainer will carryout fun active workshops with all pupils and there will be inflatable bouncy castle and giant novelty games for pupils to enjoy also. A special guest will arrive at 1.30 p.m for our awards ceremony and the raising of our school's third Green Flag. It promises to be a really enjoyable day and we would love to see as many people present as possible. . Have a look at the planned timetable here. Pupils from 1st, 2nd and 3rd class were on school tour on Thursday June 14. The pupils visited Ailwee Caves in the Burren and explored the limestone caves and features. They then viewed the Birds of Prey exhibition involving predator falcons hunting for food. The pupils then visited The Planet Ennis for some lunch and bowling to round off the day. Have a look at some of the highlights here. The pupils of 4th, 5th and 6th class visited Dublin on their school tour on Wednesday June 13. The pupils visited the The Wall climbing gym, The Natural History Museum and the National Aquatic Centre. The day commenced with an early start leaving Kilkishen at 7 am and arriving at the The Wall for 10 am. The pupils were involved in a number of climbing activities and challenges at the climbing wall and really enjoyed the experience. A visit to the Natural History Museum followed with a self guided tour of over 10,000 animals, insects and birds on exhibition. Finally, the pupils were treated to fun water activities at the National Aquatic Centre and water park. A special thanks to Brian Bliss and the staff at The Wall in Sandyford for opening up their facility to our pupils and for such a generous welcome. Congratulations to all the boys and girls who took part in this morning's swimming gala at Active Ennis Leisure Complex. Kilkishen NS entered five teams and each team were fantastic. They all qualified for the final after intense heats. The 4th Class boys team did particularly well, coming in 2nd place in the final. The other results were as follows:

Pupils from Kilkishen and O'Callaghans Mills were treated to a demonstration from Killaloe Coastguard and Shannon helicopter rescue teams at O'Callaghans Mills G.A.A. pitch yesterday. The crew of helicopter R115 spoke to pupils about what is involved in their work and allowed pupils to board the helicopter. We are very grateful to all the search and rescue team members and crew for taking time to visit our pupils. The crew are inspirational role models and carryout such amazing work.
