The Parents Association Committee are seeking to select class representatives from Junior Infants, 2nd, 4th and 6th class. Parents of children in these classes are asked to select their preferred candidate by Friday September 29. A huge thank you to outgoing parent representatives Fiona Boyce, Jane Collins, Nicole Zimmerman, Kevin Donovon and Mairead Frost for their work on the Committee and support they have provided to the school. Well done to all pupils that received Gold Stars last week for doing their best, showing respect and completing their homework. All pupils that earn a Gold Star are entered into a draw and two pupils are selected at random. Congratulations to last weeks winners. Yesterday we started our Maths Stations using Team Teaching to achieve maximum success. Maths Stations will take place in Miss Fawl's classroom every Thursday and Mr. Walsh's 3rd Class children will be joining us. We are very lucky to have extra support this year and to have so much help in the classroom. Ms O'Shea, Miss Clancy, Miss Fitzgerald, myself and Pauline were on hand to help the children at each station today. The topics covered were Capacity, Place Value and Problem Solving. The children really enjoyed themselves and had a lot of fun while learning. Below are some pictures of each station. Thirty-six pupils from Kilkishen N.S. took part in the primary schools cross country athletics event held at Lee's Road in Ennis on Thursday September 14. Boys and girls competed in the U/8, U/10 and O/10 categories and represented Kilkishen N.S. very well. Our U/8 girls team won Gold. The team was made up of Clodagh O'Hagan, Abbey Fleming, Ellie Frost, Eve Cleary, Meggie Zimmerman and Charleigh McInerney. Congratulations to all pupils that were selected to compete at the event and thank you to Martina O' Hagan and Edel McInerney for their help preparing the pupils.
