There promises to be some great contests and close matches in the Cup and Shield competitions. Best of luck to the teams involved. Pupils at Kilkishen N.S. received a special visit this week from none other than Santa Claus. Everyone at Kilkishen N.S. was delighted to meet Santa and listen to a special message he had for all the girls and boys this year. He asked the boys and girls to try to be especially good this year. We look forward to seeing Santa this Sunday at the Kilkishen GAA Clubhouse from 4-7pm before he finalizes all his presents for the boys and girls. Our school debating team were in action on Monday December 2 when they opposed the motion "Homework is a waste of time for all primary school pupils" with St. Conaire's Shannon. The debate was very keenly contested between two excellently prepared teams. The kilkishen team comprised of Áine Moroney (captain), Emma Zimmermann and Eimear Cassidy. Unfortunately Kilkishen will not go forward to the next round, however the team can be extremely proud of their efforts in this years competition. We wish St. Conaire's the best of luck in the next round and congratulate all that took part. Kilkishen pupil Martin Bon was part of the victorious Clare Schools Handball team that were crowned Munster champions at Clooney Handball Alley on Sunday December 1.
