Experiments are an awesome part of science that allow students of all ages to engage in fun and exciting hands on learning experiences that they are sure to enjoy. The children in 3rd and 4th Class became scientists this month and experimented with different things, seeing what happens, which substances react with each other and which don't. They worked in groups to research and carry out their own investigations. After all their hard work learning about their chosen project and testing things out, they then presented their experiments and their findings to all the other classes and teachers in the school. Great fun and learning took place! Have a look at photographs of the children experimenting and presenting below and go over to our Class Dojo page to enjoy some fun videos. Thanks to local photographer John Power for these images from the Christmas Market held at Kilkishen N.S. on Sunday last. Thank you to Baiba Strazdina for visiting 5th and 6th class and demonstrating how to make beautiful Christmas stars. Follow the easy to follow steps below and see how beautiful paper stars are created! Congratulations to all pupils that received a Gold Star last week for doing their best, showing respect and completing their homework. Stars of the Week were chosen at random from each class. Well done everyone and best of luck again this week! Kilkishen Parents Asscoiation held it's annual Christmas Market at Kilkishen N.S. on Sunday Decemebr 10. The school was transformed into a beautiful Christmas Grotto with fun activities for all the family. There was face painting, a mobile animal pet farm and fun games for children. Santa and Mrs. Claus were in attendance and family photos were captured by Kevin Donovon. The day was a fantastic occasion and a very memorable day for all that were able to attend. Thank you to everyone that helped out on the day. Eoin Shanahan a student in 2nd and 3rd class received an interesting letter in the post today. He received a reply from Irish soccer legend Shane Long. Our class sent letters to famous people earlier in the year to learn about the importance of letter writing and also our local post office. Another student Joe Madden was delighted to receive a letter from our president Micheal D. Higgins. These are letters that the students will treasure long into the future.
