Congratulations to our Student of the Week award winners in Ms. McNamara's, Mr. Walsh's and Ms. Fawl's classrooms. Pupils are selected for Trying Their Best, Showing Respect and Completing Their School and Homework. Each student receives a Student of the Week certificate and has their photograph published on the school website. Well done to all and best of luck everyone to be chosen as next week's winners. On Sunday October 31, pupils from 5th and 6th class took part in the 100 year commemoration of the Glenwood Ambush. On January 21 1921, 37 members of East Clare Brigade took part in an ambush on British soldiers travelling from Sixmilebridge to Broadford. The event is remembered as one of the many nationwide attacks during the War of Independence. Pupils performed a recitation of Poblacht na hEireann at the event unveiling a plaque remembering those that took part in the Glenwood Ambush. Photos from the event are available to view below. Pupils from 5th and 6th class dressed up for Halloween and paraded their costumes along the local bog walk and through Kilkishen village. Have a look at their costumes here. First and second class had great fun dressing up for Halloween and scaring everyone they met on the bog walk! See if you can recognise any of our scary class! |
