The senior girls competed in the primary schools basketball tournament on Tuesday at Gurteen sports complex. Kilkishen played 4 matches on the day and managed to record victories over Doora N.S. and Inch N.S. Both games finished tied after two six minute halves. Chelsea Canny proved the difference in overtime in both matches as she managed to claim victory for Kilkishen with the winning baskets. In the first game Kilkishen girls lost out narrowly to Tulla N.S. by 4 points to 2 and were also beaten by the tournament winners Crusheen N.S. Kilkishen had great performances on the day from Abby Heffernan, Ella Donovon, Mia Egan, Hollie Nuggent, Julie Murphy and Chelsea Canny. Lola Moroney, Emily Pewter, Clara Madden, and Ciara Nash played their part in the tournament and all these girls will be available to play again next year. The future of girls basketball in Kilkishen is very bright! Thank you to Martina O'Hagan and Richard Greaves for their coaching with the girls and their assistance on the day. Comments are closed.
